Updates The next concert will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Eckstein Middle School auditorium, 3003 NE 75th Street. FALL SESSION: The Ravenna Second String Orchestra will begin Monday, Sept. 15, and continue through Dec. 8. The Ravenna String Orchestra will rehearse Wednesdays, Sept. 17 through Dec. 10. Both orchestras will have a short run through and then play an 8 p.m. concert on Dec. 10. Rehearsals for both orchestras will run from 7:15 to 8:15 pm at Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center, 6535 Ravenna Ave. NE. The cost for either group will be $75. If you want to play in both orchestras there is a $25 additional fee for the second orchestra. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you want to apply for a tuition scholarship. The Monday orchestra will perform Three Pieces in Baroque Style by Penderecki, Pavane pour une Infante Defunte by Ravel/Atwell and Geometric Dances by Richard Meyer. The Wednesday orchestra will play the third movement of Concerto in F Major for Three Violins by Vivaldi, The Parting by Nimrod Borenstein and Air on the G String from Suite #3 in D Major by Bach/Stokowski. |
